Frequently Asked Questions
  • How Do the Homeless People Get the Shoes?
We work with local homeless shelters and local churches to distribute the shoes to the homeless population in and around the metropolitan areas around the race site.

  • Can I Mail You My Shoes?
Yes! You can mail your shoes to us. Click on the Contact Us page and mail them to the address listed there.

  • Do You Collect Other Shoes or Just Running Shoes?
We collect all types of shoes, but the majority of the shoes we collect are mileage-worn running shoes. We do not accept spikes as they are not practical day-to-day shoes for homeless people.

  • Does The Shoe Shed make money on the collected shoes?
No. The Shoe Shed is a non-profit organization. We do accept monetary donations to offset our administrative costs, but we are strictly non-profit.

  • If I Don't Have Shoes to Donate, But I Want to Help. What Do I Do?
Many of the attendees at races want to help shoe the homeless, but don't have shoes to donate. You can help us collect and distribute shoes by making a financial contribution to The Shoe Shed. Send your check or money order (payable to The Shoe Shed) to our mailing address in Spring, TX.
